{Hair Trends} The best Wedding Day hairstyles
Every bride wants to look stunning on her big day. Whether she envisioned a classic, traditional or modern hairstyle she wants only the best as recommended by the experts. With summer here and the style trends of celebrities ever changing, it’s easy to find a style to suit every woman. Together with Emelang Moyo, Celebrity Stylist at FR!KA, we take a look at the top trending styles and how they can be achieved.
Jazz Water
Jazz Water is great for a natural hair look. It feels extremely soft and light on the head, allowing the curls to remain bouncy. This style allows for finger combing as well as being versatile to play around with. For example, one can comb out the curls to have an afro look or the curls can be left as is so that on your Big Day you do not have to worry about the wind affecting you hair. The FR!KA Jazz Water is a funky yet sophisticated style.
Lady Kimora
This FR!KA style has long bouncy curls that are easy to maintain. The curls can be combed out as well to achieve a fuller and more natural look. You do not have to worry about the curls loosing shape on your big day.
Coco Weave
If you are after a more sophisticated and polished look, the Coco Weave is definitely the style for you. The long and the loose curls are bouncy and soft and because of the length it allows for up to four different styles to be created ie, leaving it down or as an up style, as well as styling it in to a bun for a 1950s and Spanish look.
Boity Bump
The FR!KA Boity Bump is a short sexy style that is easy to maintain. It can be styled in many different looks by controlling the curls with your fingers. It’s a popular summer style because it’s above the neck therefore not heavy. It also has a natural human hair look.
Hotex
The FR!KA Hotex allows one to achieve a straight and more polished look. The tapered ends are very nice and one could play around with three different kinds of inches. I would suggest an 18 inch at the nape and a 16 inch in the middle and a 14 inch on the crown to give it some layers. It’s silky smooth and no serum will be necessary for this style. If it ends up being a hot day, this style can be pinned into an up style.
Style tips for the holidays
- When combing the hair such as the FR!KA Coco and Hotex use a wide tooth comb and comb from the tips of the hair moving upwards.
- Do not apply a hand full of serum or detangler, a pinch is more than enough.
- Always wear swimming caps when swimming. If you do not, ensure you wash out the chlorine with a hydrating shampoo to leave the hair hydrated and manageable.
- If possible go under the hood dryer after applying a leave in conditioner as it is safer than the hand dryer.
- For styles such as the FR!KA Jazz Water and Lady Kimora, do not apply water, rather split the hair apart when tangled.
