The first of fortnightly blogs brought to you by Robynn Niemack, a life coach, people development professional and Zumba fitness instructor

A hearty hello to you!

Before we dive in, let me introduce you to three easy steps that should become a habit for this lifestyle journey as well as every other area of your life. I’ve called it ‘Commanding Life through the three C’s’ – ie create, commit and celebrate. Trust me, it works.

STEP 1: CREATE THE INTENTION

Intention is generally viewed as a pit-bull kind of determination propelling one to succeed at all costs by never giving up on an inner picture. Now you have decided to say “YES to the best YOU”, and only you know what that best version of yourself looks like…on all fronts – spiritually, mentally and physically. That is the YOU we are gravitating towards. She is beautiful isn’t she? Yes, she is #FITANDFABULOUS!

STEP 2: COMMIT TO THE GOAL

There is a quote that goes like this, “Commitment means staying loyal to what you said you were going to do long after the mood you said it in has left you”. Oh boy, and don’t we all know what an uphill battle it is to remain passionate and focused on something when your feelings are working against you. This is why it is vital to be conscious of the power of commitment. It is that decisiveness rooted in our minds that will over-ride the fickleness of feelings and give longevity to the intention we created to transform our lifestyles.

STEP 3: CELEBRATE EACH MILESTONE

Now I know this all could sound deep and daunting and that is the reality of any sustained change or transformation. While there are terrific moments of elation, there are days when you have to dig deep to stick with your original intention. This is why it is important to celebrate the milestones and achievements (no matter how small), on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. I guess this is also why we have developed a culture of celebrating birthdays, wedding anniversaries and other significant achievements.

Celebration is the catalyst between results and renewed belief. Recognising hard work and achievement ensures that we believe our efforts are worthwhile, and spurs the cycle of success to continue. It gives you your second breath, a renewing of your will to keep going as you gravitate towards that best version of yourself. The one only you have been privileged to see in the inner part of your soul. You saw that she is beautiful – spiritually, mentally and physically. That’s the YOU, you said YES to…the one you committed to and the one we will be celebrating daily, weekly, monthly and every year.

Not only are you fit to be a bride, you are fit to be a FABULOUS YOU. Forever!
