Kenya Mawusi and Ackerly Barnett’s all-white palette evolved from the colour overload Kenya experienced while planning.
“My bridesmaids kept sending me colour combinations,” she says. “I had daydreams of 50 million shades of colours but nothing went together – hence my choice of all white and natural.”!
Even the guests and staff were asked to wear all white, contributing to the day’s clean and minimalist vibe. The only other colour in the details was gold – from Ackerly’s vest and tie to the place settings and the sequined gold mini dress Kenya changed into for the reception.
After the ceremony guests made their way to Kenya’s family home where three tents housed the buffet, seating and dancing. Everyone (including Kenya and Ackerly) was able to slip away to the property’s pier for romantic waterside photo-ops throughout the evening.
