Planning – African Elegance

by Apr 29, 20210 comments

In this magnificent planning shoot, less is more when you have the spectacular backdrop of The Laurentin at Pont de Val at sunset…

What a setting! A perfect African sunset was the main inspiration for this shoot; a combination of exquisite sundown colours in hues of yellow, orange and red with the French elegance that characterises picturesque Pont de Val.

The bridal look
Soft, feminine lace and tulle contrast with striking leather jewels.

Décor
Both the cake and stationery used in this magical wedding were Shweshwe motives, offering a touch more African inspiration. In keeping with the contrast of the softness of the bridal look combined with leather jewellery, the flowers were a combination of romantic phalaenopsis orchids, lisianthus and roses that boldly contrasted with proteas and thorn tree branches. Décor was another innovative look – a soft grey tablecloth was the backdrop for ornate gold cutlery, gold-rimmed glasses and exquisite birds-of-paradise charger plates.
