The Wedding Expo, South Africa’s largest bridal expo, is once again in search of the best wedding cake, and is inviting all cake makers to stand in line to be voted ‘the best cake 2016.’  This year, in association with South Bakels and Nestle, the Cake Challenge aims to highlight the talent. The Wedding Expo takes place from 12 to 13 March at the TicketPro Dome. 

Lauren Lee Cake Couture

Whether you’re a novice or professional cake baker, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to enter The Wedding Expo Cake Challenge at The Wedding Expo in March. This is where The Wedding Expo gives cake makers their time to shine and showcase their skills and creativity to the brides in Gauteng.

Sugar Smith Cakes

There will be three categories for judges to vote on: Best Overall Cake, Best Tasting Cake and Best Decorated Cake. The winners of these categories will receive the honour and recognition of their achievement as well as fantastic advertising and product prizes.

The Cake Specialist

Visitors to The Wedding Expo will have their say as well, by voting for their favourite cake, they will bestow the honour of the Public’s Choice award to the novice and professional cakes with the most votes. The voting visitors will go into a draw to win a fabulous prize.

Seline Van Der Wat

All cakes will be submitted to a blind judging by a panel of judges which include previous competition Best Overall Cake winner Pat Borsato, of Cakes by Pat, and Best Decorated Cake winner Deon Swart of the Cake Genie, together with representatives from sponsors and media.
