{Reader Event} Here’s what YOU can look forward to
On the 25th of September, a beautiful Sunday morning, Nubian Bride magazine hosted the first of a duo of Reader Events and Brunches targeted towards newly engaged couples planning their big day, and to wedding industry enthusiasts as well.
The morning started with tea served on the perfectly manicured Avianto grounds which gave our guests an opportunity to sign in and collect their wedding planning gift boxes from Avianto, which were hand crafted on the premises designed to help brides store all their paper work, images and planning documentation for their big day.
After all our guests had arrived, our first speaker from Avianto kicked things off with a beautiful video of Avianto as a wedding and reception venue that showcased the magnificent setting . Guests were then treated to an informative talk from Olivelli bridal couture regarding their collection of bridal gowns. The talk also addressed how brides can choose the right bridal gown to suit their specific figure.
In the excitement of an engagement millions of things are going through a bride-to-be’s mind, one of which should be how to budget and invest for the future. To address these concerns Mrs. Allyssa Qupa, representing Old Mutual (headline sponsor), gave an engaging presentation regarding financial planning and investment opportunities and services with Old Mutual.
After guests had enjoyed a scrumptious brunch, they were treated to a tour of Avianto’s grounds, wedding venues, chapel, hotel and honeymoon suits. Upon their return from, our brides-to-be then had the opportunity to have their make-up done my Lancome’s make up experts who walked guests through the correct process of make-up application and techniques, particularly regarding bridal make up. A few ladies even won a gift bag thanks to the lucky draw organised by Lancome.
The award winning Belle’s Patisserie then spoiled us with tastings of their cake flavours and gave our guests tips regarding budgeting for a cake, how to decorate and stage a cake during a wedding reception as well as how they could schedule a tasting at Belle’s for their big day.
Last but not least to present was South Africa’s top award winning wine makers from Graham Beck, who’s representative shared their knowledge regarding the process of wine making, as well more information regarding the selection of beverages available for purchase for celebrations from Graham Beck. Goodie bags were available for each couple at the end of the day’s proceedings with gifts sponsored by Old Mutual, Lancome, The Little Pink Book, Nubian Bride magazine, Avianto and Olivelli Bridal couture.
Nubian Bride magazine will be hosting the second brunch at the end of October for all readers who could not attend the first event. All Nubian Bride readers are welcome to invite their fiancés as well as bridesmaids and friends to our next brunch taking place on 30th October in at Avianto wedding and conference venue in Muldersdrift.
