{Real Wedding} Lize and Lesego
Lesego and Lize tied the knot in what could only be described as a truly South African wedding. The ceremony was a mixture of Afrikaans, Sesotho and even Tshivenda wedding traditions. “There was a lot of ululating at the ceremony” says Lize, the bride, about her big day.
The ceremony took place over two days in December at the couples’ home, a farm in the Muldersdrift area. It included an informal braai during which all the guests joined in the excitement of decorating the tent for the formal ceremony held the next day. “It was perfect, it was so hot that the rain after the ceremony was welcome” says Lize.
The couple who met at Stellenbosch University say they knew they were meant to spend the rest of their lives together when they could hold each other’s interest for longer than an hour.
Their joyous wedding only served to seal the deal for a couple that is clearly madly in love. “We didn’t drink anywhere near as much as we thought we would n idea of how hot he is she was friggin hot in her wedding dress” says the groom, Lesego, and in response Lize was equally impressed; “to give you the first time my mother met him she said to me ‘you didn’t tell me he was so handsome, in Afrikaans of course”.
