{Real Wedding} Trusha & Kishan
Trusha and Kishan had an almost storybook romance. The pair first met on their first day of nursery school at the tender age of 5. They not only became good friends, but their families (both of which hail from Lenasia, Gauteng) became quite close too. They lost touch during their high school years but fortunately found each other again at university. They haven’t been apart since.
The couple chose an outdoor wedding. Both the traditional ceremony and reception were held at Memoire in the Muldersdrift area, overlooking the Crocodile River. The couple’s fears of rain were dispelled and they were blessed with a beautiful summer’s day.
The ceremony took place under a crystal mandap and on red carpeting laid on the floor. Guests were welcomed with refreshments and sweet meats. The ceremony lasted an hour and a half and the couple was surrounded by the love of their friends and family, all of whom were on hand to congratulate them after they were declared husband and wife.
After the ceremony guests were served refreshments on the tiered lawns leading to the reception venue. The décor was exactly what the bride had pictured: Simple and elegant with a palette of reds and cream. The main meal was a traditional Gujarati meal, which was followed by the cutting of the cake.
For both Trusha and Kishan their wedding was the realisation of a full year of planning. And, for the bride, the attention she enjoyed was very much welcomed.
