Where and how did you meet?

Palesa: My friends and I had heard about the new News Café in Woodmead and decided we’d go check it out one Friday night. As we arrived and parked out cars, Thembani and his friend walked passed and greeted us. Thembani said, “Hi ladies, you all look beautiful tonight, especially you in white.” And that was me! He only approached me again much later in the evening and he was so certain of our future. I’m glad he was, as now we’re Mr and Mrs.

Thembani: My colleagues and I had been talking about a new News Café and we went on a Friday after work. My friend and I were walking towards the entrance when we saw Palesa and her friends. I just thought to myself, “wow what a beautiful girl,” and said the first thing that came to mind. It was only afterwards that I started doubting my impact. I clearly had made one though because she remembered me later that night and I knew I had to make her mine.

A short description of your wedding day?

It was a beautiful celebration of love.

What was the highlight of your day?

Palesa: The ceremony.

Thembani: Seeing Palesa walk down the aisle.

How did it feel to finally stand side-by-side as husband and wife?

We got married legally two years ago, however, to be able to stand in front of our family and friends was the most beautiful feeling.

Where did you go on honeymoon?

We stayed in the Western Cape for three weeks after the wedding: A week in Stellenbosch and the remaining two in Cape Town.
