{Real Weddings} Ria and Vidwan

These two lovebirds seem to have fate on their side. After being born in the same hospital, delivered by the same doctor only a few days apart, their paths finally met years later at a birthday party. They immediately hit it off and so began a romantic love story.

The journey to the altar started when Vidwan proposed to Ria while they were on the London Eye in March 2011. It then took them over a year and a half to get around to planning the wedding. What was the rush?

They decided to go the traditional Indian wedding route which included pre-wedding celebrations in Durban and then the actual wedding celebration in Cape Town. They had a serene garden ceremony with the ocean as a backdrop, followed by an intimate and lavish reception at the Twelve Apostles Hotel.

With hues of deep pink and burnt orange, the decor was absolutely exquisite and set the scene for the entire wedding. Everything was perfect, from their delicious North Indian cuisine to the imported hand-stitched outfits the wedding party wore. It was a truly royal affair, with one of the most memorable moments being their helicopter charter to the Constantia winelands for their romantic photo shoot.
