Fiji honeymoon

{Traditional Real Wedding} Wandile & Nolonwabo

Where and how did you meet?

We went to the same high school and we lived next door to each other. We officially started dating in 2004 when Wandy was a Wits student.

How did he propose?

We both come from very traditional families. So, although we had been talking about marriage and we both agreed we were ready, Wandy first asked my parents for my hand in marriage. Only after that did he ‘officially’ ask me to marry him. What tortured me the most was that I couldn’t wear my engagement ring until we had my parents’ blessings. It’s my most prized possession.

Provide a short description of your wedding day.

It was the most beautiful day of my life. It rained cats and dogs and things didn’t go according to plan, but somehow the chaos fused together and made magic. Those are two days I will always cherish until the end of time.

If you could change one thing about your wedding day, what would it be?

The pouring rain. The grounds were so beautiful and so was the venue.

What was the highlight of your day?

When I was walking down the aisle towards Wandy and when I finally became Mrs Ndlangisa.

How did it feel to finally stand next to each other as husband and wife?

I can’t put my happiness into words; it was a feeling that only two people who don’t want to exist without each other would understand.

Where did you go on honeymoon?

We have not gone on honeymoon yet; we plan on going towards the end of the year.

What advice would you give to a bride-to-be?

This is a day that you will look back on for the rest of your life; plan ahead and make sure it is what you see in your dreams. And on the day, just enjoy it, even if things do not all go according to plan.
