Idlewild Country Estate is a magnificent new venue with a majestic building overlooking the Rietvleidam Nature Reserve and has rolling lawns where Blesbuck roam freely. It has an aura of tranquility, peace and warmth with picturesque sunsets. Idlewild is located on the Southern side of the Rietvleidam Nature Reserve and is centrally located between Joburg, Pretoria and Bedfordview.
Idlewild Country Estate was erected on a farm which has been in the family since 1978. They cater for weddings, conferences, sporting events, launches, year-end functions, matric dances and seminars. They can host up to 400 guests cocktail style, 350 guests banquet style and 200 – 300 seated at round or square tables.
There is ample secure parking and the venue has a beautiful porte cochere where guests can arrive safely under cover. They’re also a wheel chair friendly venue. Idlewild is a Green venue, as most of the materials used for the building were recycled from the farm. The natural sandstone was imported from Fouriesburg. Authentic timbers are incorporated in the interior design and specialised insulation techniques are used throughout, reducing reliance on air conditioners. The gardens consist of various indigenous grasses and trees. They also have a generator with enough capacity to supply the whole farm and venue with electricity, ensuring the smooth running of all events.

They have one stunning venue which will exclusively belong to you and your guests on your special day, where you can dance the night away. They have partnered with Ginger Apple who will provide you with delicious menus. Menus range from canapés and buffet dining to plated three course meals. A menu will be personally designed for your needs. Halaal and Kosher meals can be arranged on request.
