Zoleka and Patrick were introduced by mutual friends. The couple were taken by each other instantly and soon became good friends. Not long after, they both realised that what they had was something more than mere friendship. Patrick popped the question on Zoleka’s birthday and had the ring hidden in a flower bouquet.

The couple were both in love with the picturesque town of Franschhoek in the Western Cape, and so the winelands scenery was deemed to be the perfect location for their wedding. The spring wedding was held on a cool, breezy day amongst beautiful fauna and flora. Guests witnessed the exchanging of vows next to the vineyards with the Simonsberg Mountains in the background.

A quick sprinkle of rain after the vows was welcomed as a sign of good luck to the couple. There were many magical moments on the day, but Zoleka stole the show when she tossed aside her Xhosa and made her speech in French, which is Patrick’s first language and, of course, the language of love.
