{Celeb Talk} 5 Love lessons from Odwa & Kgomotso
Springbok and Sharks rugby player Odwa Ndungane and his beautiful wife Kgomotso got married in what was surely one of the most glamorous weddings of the year in 2012. They talk to Nubian Bride about how married life tops a fabulous wedding and how they are creating their own vision for marriage
Here are five lessons we learnt on marriage from their interview with Nubian Bride.
1. Friendship is a great basis for romance and marriage
“The friendship bond that developed between us was a definite sign that we had found each other and that we would be life partners.”
2. Define marriage for yourself
“There wasn’t a marriage that we held up as an example. We want to create our own legacy.”
3. Don’t be afraid to seek outside counsel
“Before we got married we went for marriage counselling. Our thoughts really were very much centred on God’s design for marriage. We are both strong believers and we wanted to be guided by God’s principles around marriage. So we had to understand the covenant that we were about to enter into, respecting it and taking it seriously.”
4. Children also need their parents to be happy
“The best gift that we can ever give to our daughter and our future kids is to love one another, and these roles have taught us both that we have so much love.”
5. Love has its benefits
“When you love better, give better, you will receive better.”

My favourite is defining marriage for the two of you. Very important! Also, like the seeking outside counsel, especially in relation to marriage counselling.
