When Ncumisa and Thulani decided to get married they knew it had to be by the sea. Fortunately for the couple their chosen destination, George, was close to the bride’s home, Mossel Bay.

The couple first met while living and working in Johannesburg. They were introduced to each other by a mutual friend at a braai held at Hartbeespoort Dam.

When it came time for the groom to propose, he decided to go traditional. The groom’s elders travelled from Swaziland (where the groom hails from) to ask for the bride’s hand in marriage. Soon after, the lobola negotiations were completed and the couple held their traditional wedding.

The theme of the white wedding was inspired by the venue. The couple fell in love with its Cape Dutch architecture. The scheme was further enhanced by the choice of flowers (pink roses), table settings of elaborate silver candelabra with candles adorned with crystals and an antique chandelier.

The bride had never looked more beautiful. She wore a gorgeous dress with a sweet heart bodice made from beaded lace bejewelled with an infinite amount of Swarovski crystals. The bodice ended in a dramatic full skirt made from layered netting. The bride was complemented by her bridesmaids who wore purple raw silk dresses.

The guests enjoyed an elaborate menu which included grilled prawns and lamb and ended sweetly with miniature lemon meringues, peppermint crisp tartlets and a cheese cake. The sumptuous feast was accompanied by the charming sounds of a saxophone. Guests later partied with the happy couple to house music, hip hop and R’n’B.
