Remember & Patience

Where and how did you meet?

It was love at first sight; during the reception we spoke briefly and from then on we were inseparable.

We met on 1 June 2013 at a friend’s wedding in Nelspruit. It was love at first sight; during the reception we spoke briefly and from then on we were inseparable. The following morning he came to the hotel and asked me out for breakfast. While I was getting ready, he told my friend that he was going to marry me and I actually took it as a joke. He was a charming young man and from that moment he stole my heart. The rest is history.

How did he propose?

It was on Saturday, 13 December2014. I had just written my German exam and he insisted that he take me out to my favourite restaurant. But I was tired, so he let me take a nap. Half an hour later he woke me up with a beautifully prepared brunch. When he woke me up, I was shocked to find my engagement ring at the bottom of a flute of champagne. My eyes were locked on that flute, he got down on one knee, and from that moment on, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

What was the highlight of your day?

Patience: Sharing our vows was my highlight of the day. It was very personal and emotional and the love we share was evident.

Remember: Seeing my wife walking down the aisle… she was a shining star that came closer and closer as she approached the pulpit.

How did it feel to finally stand next to each other as husband and wife?

The feeling was overwhelming, exciting. This was the moment we were both waiting for.

Where did you go on honeymoon?

We went on a three-island honeymoon in Thailand.

What advice would you give to a bride-to-be?

Remember that the most important people on the day are you and your husband. Forget about trying to please everyone, enjoy every single moment and have fun.
