Thobile & Thami
A perfect wedding day
Thobile and Thami met four years ago at a party in Durban. Good fortune played a role when Thobile, the bride met Thami just two days before he was due to fly back home to Johannesburg. Thami introduced himself, asked her out to lunch the following day, and the rest as they say, is history. Thami proposed in October 2009 and the lobola negotiations were initiated in January 2010.
According to the bride, who still glows recalling the day, the wedding day was perfect. “Our reception was set just a stone’s throw away under a transparent marquee. I arrived feeling like a princess in my wedding dress” she says. The highlight of the day was however, seeing their dream come true and exchanging vows in front of God, their families and friends as well as their first dance as Mr and Mrs Buthelezi.
“We danced to I don’t know much by Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt … we couldn’t believe we were finally married”. The only thing she would have changed about her magical day? Having had to take off her wedding gown after the ceremony.
