{Real Wedding} Reshma & Phillipp
London couple, Reshma and Phillipp’s wedding celebrations were an exciting cross country event. The 4-day wedding celebrations kicked off with a dinner in Cape Town. The adventure seeking couple then went on to a Wine lands tour and then it was off to Plettenberg Bay for a traditional Indian henna and bangles ceremony.
The actual wedding took place on a farm on the outskirts of Plettenberg Bay. For the ceremony, the mandap (traditional Indian canopy) was dressed in gently flowing fabrics with orange marigolds, orchids and greenery forming. The groom entered the venue, led by the sounds of African drums. And the beautiful bride Reshma, dressed in a sari, entered to the sounds of an African choir.
The guests were treated to an assortment of delicious canapés, the likes of curried potato samoosas, smoked salmon trout, naan bread and crispy roti shards. A veritable African feast mixed with true Indian flavours.
The decor provided an elegant backdrop to the heartfelt ceremony. The wedding was a true cultural fusion with different influences coming through the décor also, such as the flower compositions, crystal chandeliers and Vietnamese lanterns in vibrant colours. However the highlight of this visual feast was the wedding cake which was presented as a chandelier, with Perspex disks hanging from stylish ribbon lengths, each tied to a transparent box holding a beautifully crafter chocolate brownie.
