India & Mothusi
Where and how did you meet?
We met when Mothusi was playing a gig at the Johannesburg Theatre with the band called The Fridge. I was there with a friend, and afterwards we all went out together. Although we were both there with other partners, there was a clear connection between us. Mothusi got my number from a friend and asked me out the following day
How did he propose?
We were at a music festival, Grietfest, and Mothusi asked me to marry him. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I didn’t think he was being serious at first, but soon realised that he was.
Please provide a short description of your wedding day?
We were married in Cape Town at a beach-side ceremony next to Llandando rock. The wedding was intimate and personal. We cried. We laughed. We started off by exchanging vows next to the sea, then we visited several scenic areas in the city. We ended the day with a Thai dinner (our first trip together was to Thailand) and then spent the night out on Long Street. We stayed at a lovely boutique hotel in Bantry Bay.
If you could change one thing about your wedding day, what would it be?
Nothing.
What was the highlight of your day?
Standing next to the sea and pledging our love to each other.
How did it feel to finally stand next to each other as husband and wife?
It felt surreal. It also felt very right and like it was supposed to happen.
Where did you go on honeymoon?
Cape Town. We had eloped there, and we then honeymooned there.
What advice would you give to a soon-to-be bride?
Take a moment to just enjoy the day. Don’t worry about minor details. Enjoy this big moment; it’s the beginning of your life together.
